Life and Death
This piece, I think, was one of my most successful illusions, certainly one of the ones I enjoyed the most. I called it Life and Death because from its current orientation the hand appears to be drawing the face of an old and dying person; however, if you flip the image vertically, or even begin to turn your head, you will see that the hand is also drawing the face of a youthful and lively person. It is an homage to Escher’s hands that draw each other, but with a twist of Schachtman.
